New evidence of the Chinese regime’s practice of harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners has come to light through the admission of a Chinese doctor.
An audio recording of the doctor admitting to having taken part in harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners, together with a state-endorsed documentary in which the same doctor acknowledges taking part in the conversation, is “an undeniable, inculpatory admission of the harvesting of Falun Gong practitioner prisoners for profit,” say David Matas, a human rights lawyer, and David Kilgour, former Canadian secretary of state (Asia Pacific), in a letter released yesterday. The letter, addressed to the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Canada, calls on the PRC authorities to officially admit to being involved in the organ harvesting, and to “put an end to this practice.”
Matas and Kilgour had their investigators call Chinese hospitals inquiring about organ transplants, specifically if they could get organs from Falun Gong practitioners, the rationale being that Falun Gong practitioners are generally known for being in good health.
In one case, Dr. Lu Guoping at Minzu Hospital of Guangxi Autonomous Region said that his hospital used to have organs from Falun Gong practitioners, but didn’t any longer. Here is a portion of the transcript: |

Overview Mounting evidence tells a terrible tale of murder and mutilation in China. Witnesses and Chinese physicians reveal that thousands of persons affiliated with the Falun Gong are being killed for their organs, which are sold and transplanted at enormous profit. The kidneys, livers, and hearts are often sold on demand to overseas patients, who can afford them. That is, the prisoners of conscience are tissue typed and then killed once a matching recipient is found for their organs. The perpetrators are officials of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), acting in cahoots with surgeons, prison authorities, and military officials. Victims are held in concentrations camps prior to dissection, after which the bodies’ remains are immediately cremated. First revealed in March 2006, by a woman  The story, almost too dreadful to believe, was first revealed in March 2006, when a woman claimed that as many as 4,000 Falun Gong had been killed for their organs at the hospital in which she had worked. She also said that her husband, a surgeon at the same hospital outside the northeastern city of Shenyang, had disclosed to her that he had removed cornea from the living bodies of 2,000 Falun Gong adherents (News report). WASHINGTON, D.C.—With the Olympics to begin only a few weeks away, the opponents of the Chinese communist regime are having to accept the unpleasant fact that China’s leaders have no intention of abiding by China’s promise, when awarded the prize in 2001, to improve its human rights record and respect the Olympic Charter.
Emerging now is the incongruity of the Olympic tradition of peace and tolerance with a host that is bent on suppressing human rights and the press at home while supporting some of the most murderous regimes abroad--Sudan, Burma, and Zimbabwe.
“This year’s Olympics faces constant criticism because the host government is one of the most systematic violators of human dignity,” said David Kilgour, former member of the Canadian parliament and Canadian Secretary of State for the Asia Pacific, speaking at the National Press Club on July 23. Mr. Kilgour was joined by a panel of critics of the regime, speaking on some aspect of this incongruity.
Kilgour is the co-author with attorney David Matas of Bloody Harvest, which investigated allegations of systematic, large numbers of organ harvesting throughout China, inflicted on living, unwilling Falun Gong practitioners. He noted that the Chinese Medical Association recently reached an agreement with the World Medical Association that “organ tourists” can no longer obtain transplants in China.
“Whether this is anything more than public relations, intended to benefit the Beijing Olympics, remains to be seen,” said Kilgour. |
